On July 1, 2023, for the fifth time since it became a full member in 1986, Spain assumes the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. For six months, our country carries out this task, on a rotating basis among all the member countries, which includes not only the planning and coordination of the political and technical meetings of the Council itself, but also the organization and execution of a cultural program that presents the values, priorities and challenges of the EU from the Spanish cultural wealth.
Acción Cultural Española (AC/E), given its objectives and lines of action and continuing with the path of institutional collaboration on previous occasions in which Spain has played this role in the Council of the EU, has received the proposal for the Presidency of the Government -through the Coordination Office for the Spanish Presidency of the European Union (OCPUE)- to collaborate with said office and with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation -through AECID- in the definition, organization, production and execution of this important cultural program.
