Fostering the translation of contemporary Spanish literature into Portuguese 2014

Fostering the translation of contemporary Spanish literature into Portuguese 2014

The Programme for fostering the translation of contemporary Spanish literature into Portuguese is part of the “Culture /Spain Brazil” programme organised by AC/E during 2014/2015. Its purpose is to encourage the translation of contemporary Spanish authors into Portuguese by awarding grants to Brazilian publishers who apply for them. A number of Brazilian publishing companies that planned to bring out a book by a Spanish author between January 2014 and December 2015 have thus been granted support by AC/E, enabling the writer to travel to Brazil to perform promotional activities.

The proposals received were assessed by an advisory committee, which selected the following projects:
 - RECORD: Habitaciones cerradas. Care Santos (published in Spain by Planeta)
- COSAC NAIFY: El alfabeto de los pájaros. Nuria Barrios (published in Spain by Seix Barral)
- CASARAO DO VERBO: Técnicas de iluminación. Eloy Tizón (published in Spain by Páginas de Espuma).
