The exhibition, organised by the BNE (Biblioteca Nacional de España) and AC/E (Acción Cultural Española) proposes an interactive intervention based on art books and objects at the BNE, the perception of which will be modified and supplemented through sound, music, video images and scents, transmitting sensory experiences by means of books with the aim of reflecting on the future of the book as a repository of knowledge.
Biblioteca Nacional de España, Acción Cultural Española and the researcher Magda Polo, who is the curator of the exhibition, want readers to have the chance to take part in one aspect of the show by selecting what they consider to be the finest text in world literature, describing a character in either physical or psychological terms.
The Facebook pages of the BNE Facebook www.facebook.com/BNE and AC/E www.facebook.com/ACECULTURA will feature the rules for those taking part in the project from 15 February onwards. Participants, who can submit only a paragraph or a fragment from a book, can also make use of the e-mail address redes_sociales@bne.es.
This is the first time that the initiative has been launched in Spain, the aim being that the exhibition should begin well in advance of its official opening, allowing readers to view some of the texts chosen to form a part of the show, which will open in October.
