In the framework of MOSTRA SPAIN 2017, a programme for the promotion of Spanish culture in Portugal Organized by the Spanish Ministry of Culture, Accion Cultural Española has scheduled two concerts by Xabier Díaz and Adufeiras de Salitre on the 6 of October of 2017 at the Casa da Musica in Oporto, one of the main auditoriums in the country,
Xabier Diaz has merged his facets of musician and composer with an arduous activity as a traditional Galician folklore researcher. As result of that, he published Coplas para Icia (2007) with the contribution of Pedro Lamas and Suso Iglesias. He was the lead singer of Nova Galega de Danza, performing Alento, Engado and Tradiccion touring around Spain and Portugal. He joined Berrogüetto in 2008, where he performed until the band dissolved in early 2014. Through that time with the band he won several awards; the Music Academy awarded them with the Best Song in Galician Language (2011); in the first edition of Martin Codax Galician Music Awards in 2014, the band was awarded with the Best Folk Music Band; and they achieved the Best Soundtrack Mestre Mateo Award for Inevitable (2013). He participated with Guadi Galego, Guillerme Fernandez and Xose Lois Romero in the aCadaCanto Project. Also noteworthy are his numerous collaborations in albums and concerts with many lead singers and bands as Luar na Lubre, Amancio Prada, Os Cempes, Marful, Nordestinas, Kepa Junquera, Uxia and Xose Manuel Budiño. He has performed in numerous countries such as Mexico, Zimbabwe, Germany, Uruguay, Italy or Peru. In 2015, he released "The Tambourine man" with Adufeiras de Salitre. This album was awarded for Best Album in Galician Language at the Independent Music Awards (2016) and Best Album of Traditional Music at the Martin Codax Galician Music Awards (2016). Furthermore, "The Tambourine man" has remained at the top ten of the World Music Charts Europe during February and March 2016.
