Six groups of local and international creators who have taken part in the TWS Residency are participating in this exhibition: Nobuko Tsuchiya, Yuri Suzuki, Jr-Shin Luo, Midori Mitamura, Tetsuhiro + Kiyomi Uozumi and Luis Urculo. Artist Luis Úrculo was selected from the Residency programme run by AC/E in 2013 for a stay at Tokyo Wonder Site.
The works by the artists featured in the exhibition have in common their use of everyday objects, which in their hands become something new. During their stays in Berlin, Stockholm, Seoul or Melbourne, as well as Tokyo, each creator came into contact with the culture of their place of residency and the experience of daily life there, enabling them to develop new viewpoints that give rise to another way of everyday life that is the basis of their works. This exhibition sets out to change audiences’ view of mundane objects and to foster their creativity, so that they experience an “Unseen Daily Life”.
