This exhibition brings together a collection of 54 photographs reproduced at original scale depicting some of the emblematic exhibits of the Prado National Museum which will be installed in the major plazas and pedestrian streets in Bogota and Medellin.
The original idea for this project came about in 2011 as collaboration between the Prado National Museum and the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation for Development (AECID). After the first edition in Santo Domingo, the exhibition has now travelled to over 13 countries. On this occasion, within the “Foco Cultural España-Colombia 2018/2019” (Spanish / Colombian Culture Spotlight) activities, the Mayors’ Offices of Bogota and Medellin are joining together to present this exhibition in both cities.
The educational and didactic nature of this exhibition is particularly noteworthy, allowing all manner of approaches, either through guided tours, specialist theme visits, sign language tours or talks on site by specialists or university professors, concerts, performances, children's workshops, drawing, painting or literary contests, or social network contests,
