AC/E is supporting several activities this year. Together with the Instituto Cervantes, it is producing the photography exhibition ‘Errancia y fotografía. El Mundo hispánico de Jesse A. Fernández’ (Errancy and photography. The Hispanic world of Jesse A. Fernández). This exhibition of the work of the Cuban artist – a leading name in Spanish American photography – features a selection of portraits of writers and cities from all over the world related to his life and career. It is on at the Museo Provincial de Bellas Artes Emilio Caraffa in Córdoba from 22 March to 2 June 2019.
On 29 March Nuria Espert will give a recitation of Federico García Lorca at the Teatro Real in Córdoba. In their performance Nuria Espert and Lluís Pasqual return to the words of Federico García Lorca – a poet and playwright who has played a prominent role in both their careers – using his poems as a map of Andalusia that combines Roman, Christian, Arab, Jewish and gypsy influence.
The 8th International Congress on the Spanish Language, which will take place in Córdoba (Argentina) from 27 to 30 March 2019, brings together more than 200 writers, academics, experts and professionals from all over the world to debate on the theme of ‘the Americas and the future of Spanish. Culture and education, technology and entrepreneurship’.
Experts and creators from all over Spanish America and other countries will take part: writers; members of the Spanish language academies; university rectors, professors and lecturers; publishers; journalists; translators; entrepreneurs; and other professionals related to the Spanish language.
The PICE mobility programme covers the travel expenses of the Spanish artists who have been invited to take part in the flamenco show ‘Entre dos Gitanos’ (Between two Gypsies). The show tells the story of Lucia, an assertive woman with great inner strength and self-assurance. When her father dies, Lucia feels lost, overwhelmed by loneliness, incapable of carrying on. She then meets two wild gypsies who help her recover what she has lost.
