SPAIN-INDIA WRITERS MEETING 2015

This project aims to help promote contemporary Spanish authors through the organisation a series of events in Delhi (Jawaharlal Nehru University, Sahitya Akademi and the Instituto Cervantes) and Calcutta (Calcutta Book Fair), in which the poets Carlos Aganzo, Fermín Herrero, Jesús Aguado and José María Quirós, and the singer Amancio Prada are taking part. The programme includes conversations, poetry readings, recitals, concerts and a poetry translation workshop involving writers, translators and academic experts.

Programme:
 2 February 
3pm Coordination and preparation of the workshop

3 February 
10.30am–1pm Translation workshop at Jawaharlal Nehru University session I
2pm–4pm  Translation workshop at Jawaharlal Nehru University session II

4 February 
9am–2pm Translation workshop at Jawaharlal Nehru University sessions III and IV
4pm Meeting with Indian writers at Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi (India’s National Academy of Letters). Poetry reading
6.30pm Presentation of the workshop conclusions and poetry and music recital at the Instituto Cervantes in Delhi

5 February
3pm Roundtable at Rabindranath Studies Centre, Jadavpur University

6 February 
5pm Event at Calcutta Book Fair
7pm Musical performance by Amancio Prada at the concert hall of Calcutta Book Fair

7 February 
7pm Poetic and musical tribute to Rabindranath Tagore featuring the poets and Amancio Prada at Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan.
