Spain is the centre of attention for the comic world at the 52nd edition of the Angoulême International Festival. With the motto "Spain, talent in cartoons", our country presents a representative sample of its rich and diverse comic production. The Angoulême Festival is the most important comic event in Europe, which gives great visibility to Spanish participation. This project is organised by the Ministry of Culture, Acción Cultural Española, with the collaboration of the Ministry of Culture and Acción Cultural Española with the Comic Sector.
The Festival invites attendees to immerse themselves in the world of Spanish comics through the work of more than 70 national authors, who will be featured in exhibitions, workshops, round tables, and book signings. The project explores the creative wealth, biodiversity, and linguistic plurality of Spanish comics and focuses on the female talent revolutionising the Spanish comic scene.
In addition, the 'White Book of Comics' is being presented, a comprehensive study of the sector that will allow you to gain an in-depth understanding of the reality of comics in Spain.
