This extensive catalogue guides the reader through the long history of the Spanish National Library, from its beginnings in the High Tower of the Alcazar, where more than two thousand works of great value were kept, until today, when the Library contains twenty-eight million documents . A tour through its bibliographic treasures like the Beatus Apocalypse Durer or, iconographic as original drawings by Velázquez or Goya prints, and maps like the Atlas Major Blaeu or the wooden globe with prints Tomas Lopez. Prints by Velazquez, Goya and Rembrandt, or photographs by Teynard and Campúa are some of the hits that also retains the Library.
