'Persiles y Sigismunda' una historia septentrional

El instante Fundación, with the collaboration of Acción Cultural Española and the Museo del Prado, has organised an activity lasting 15-20 minutes and featuring a number of characters from this novel (translated into English as The Wanderings of Persiles and Sigismunda). It will take place at the museum from 10.30 am to 1 pm on Wednesday 27 March. During the performance Persiles discovers games of identities, the cross-dressing of the characters, changing appearances… the vicissitudes of a couple who emerge from the sea, and their encounters with all kinds of characters to encourage thought on representation, image and its reflection in other arts.

All the action will be recorded on video to create reflections and tableaux vivants in 2-minute clips. The tour of the museum spans about 200 metres, from Pompeo Leoni’s Charles V to Velázquez’s Spinners and returning to a natural starting point, Titian’s Adam and Eve
