Next destination: Carmen Laforet

Carmen Laforet (1921-2004) managed to conquer millions of readers from all times and continents with a voice that shines beyond the area that marked the appearance of Nada: the Spain of the immediate postwar period. He had the audacity to raise his voice in a predominantly male literary world, opening a path in Spanish narrative whose keys consist of naturalness, the ability to build dialogues and reflect the psychology of characters with which to bring to life the contradictions of the human heart. This exhibition, promoted by the Cervantes Institute with the support of Acción Cultural Española and the collaboration of the National Library of Spain, is conceived as a journey whose destination is the life, work and legacy of Carmen Laforet.

The tour has six stops that will allow us to understand the inner world and the external projection of a singular writer, the dimension reached by her work inside and outside our borders, her personal and professional networks, her modernity, and the validity of her literary production. : from the so-called «rare girls» of post-war writers to the literature of the present, which finds in Carmen Laforet an example of literary authenticity capable of being universal.
