International Congress 'A Place Called Carmen Laforet'

Carmen Laforet (Barcelona, 1921 – Madrid, 2004) will have turned one hundred years old on September 6, 2021, an anniversary that launches the "Laforet Year" in which Acción Cultural Española participates, supporting, among other activities, the international congress ' A place called Carmen Laforet' organized by the Cervantes Institute.

The congress aims to help analyze and disseminate the legacy of Laforet, a fundamental reference author of Spanish narrative both for young people of her generation and today. After making herself known at the age of 23 with 'Nada', her first novel, for which she won the Nadal Prize in 1944, Laforet's creation also includes other novels, short stories, stories and newspaper articles that will be examined by the different participants in this activity.
