To mark the centenary of the birth of the poet, dramatist and novelist Salvador Espriu (Santa Coloma de Farnés, 10 July 1913 – Barcelona, 22 February 1985), Acción Cultural Española has scheduled a programme of activities based on the man and his work.
It features a three-day cycle of lectures and readings of poems by some of the greatest specialists on Espriu’s work and a cycle of projections at the Cine Estudio that take a look at his life and literary oeuvre through interviews, reportages and recordings.
The cycle also includes a concert in his honour by Raimon, one of the greatest exponents of the historical Nova Canço movement and one of the most renowned veteran Catalan artists. Raimon will sing the songs from the album Cançons de la roda del temps, which sets to music Espriu’s entire book of poems El caminant i el mur.
