The 13th edition of DOCUMENTAMADRID, the international festival devoted exclusively to documentary films promoted by Madrid council through CINETECA, will take place from 27 April to 8 May 2016.
An international name in this genre, in its Official Section DOCUMENTAMADRID offers a selection of the best non-fiction films produced worldwide in the past year and not previously screened in Spain, which compete for the award for the Best Documentary (short- and feature-length films).
As a novel feature, this year’s edition has a new award in the Official Section: Best Spanish Feature-Length Documentary. Worth 6,000 euros, this prize it is intended as recognition of a type of production that is increasingly extensive and highly valued outside Spain. Spanish feature films entered for the Official Section and the Spanish Documentary Panorama Section are eligible for the award provided that they are screened for the first time in Spain at DOCUMENTAMADRID.
