The Darling Foundry and the FTA (Festival Transámeriques), with the collaboration of AC/E through its mobility programme, are presenting the Description of a Fight project on which Dora García from Spain and the Canadian performer Jacob Wren are collaborating.
This is Dora García’s first exhibition in Canada and is curated by Chantal Pontbriand.
Dora García uses the exhibition space as a platform for exploring the relationship between spectator, work and place, often using performance and interactivity. Making only minimal changes, without invading the space, she transforms the room into a sensory experience from which each visitor comes away with altered perceptions. The artist deals with the theme of scripted experience, making the spectators the main characters in a fiction – sometimes knowingly, others inadvertently.
