Between whispers. Fictions and narrativity in contemporary art

Between whispers. Fictions and narrativity in contemporary art

The exhibition explores the ability of art to explain stories and the way in which these stories are created, transmitted and received. Presented in the context of the FIL 2024, where Spain is the Guest Country of Honor and the place where the book displays all its transformative potential, the exhibition allows us to investigate the relationship between visual arts and literature, discovering at what points both question, complement, expand and overflow each other.

The exhibition is curated by Ferrán Barenblit, and is inspired by the work of Juan Rulfo. It brings together Spanish and Mexican artists who, through various techniques, build fragmented and emotional stories. By exploring themes such as identity, memory and history, the exhibition invites us to reflect on the importance of narratives in the construction of our reality.

In an increasingly visual world, 'Between whispers' invites us to stop and reflect on the stories that surround us. By exploring narrative fragmentation and linguistic diversity, the exhibition invites us to construct our own interpretations and find new meanings in contemporary art.
