Apertura 2014

Apertura 2014

Apertura is an annual initiative devised by the association of Madrid galleries Arte Madrid to promote and disseminate the visual arts. The contemporary art galleries of Madrid are offering a four-day programme which, as in previous years, includes visits to private art collections, walking tours around the different areas where galleries are concentrated, and guided visits to the Museo Reina Sofía and Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo, among others.

For the past five years Apertura has been a key annual event and a magnificent chance to bring together collectors, curators and artists in Madrid, as well as the general public, in order to revitalise the cultural scene and contemporary art market.

AC/E is collaborating with Apertura by facilitating the participation of international curators Jacob D. Proctor (University of Chicago), Francesco Stocchi (Museum Boijmans in Rotterdam), Omar Kholeif (Whitechapel Gallery in London), Jennifer K. Gheith (San Francisco Museum of Modern Art), Andrea D. Hickey (New York Art Fund), Mariangela Capuzzo (ICART in Miami), Raneem Farsi (Royal Collections of the Arab Emirates) and Diana Baldom (Malmö Konsthall).
