After many years of intense creative activity, in which she has produced a great number of series of works and delivered performances practically worldwide, and having been broadly acknowledged across the globe as one of the most important performers, Esther Ferrer's work is now beginning to receive widespread recognition.
Although it is true that the work of Esther Ferrer (San Sebastián, 1937) has been acknowledged on individual occasions in solo shows, and gradually, over recent years, through workshops and performances, it was not until she received the National Plastic Arts Award in 2008 that one could genuinely claim that her figure, her name and the importance of her contribution to conceptual art were beginning to generate a higher profile.
This exhibition is not intended as an anthology, nor as an attempt to present all her career and creative aspects, but is rather structured as an action in four movements, a distinct approach to each of the different essential elements not only in her work but in conceptual art in general.
