The Dreadful Eden Belona. Natalia Granada

The Dreadful Eden

In the installation El Edén Despreciado, artist Natalia Granada presents the human body as the victim of an ungovernable momentum of desire that leads it to destruction and death. The images, using violence as the predominant element, present internal aspects of the human being which can inspire terror and fear.

The installation comprises seven pieces: Belona y Némesis (Belona and Nemesis), Érase una vez un ángel exterminador (Once Upon a Time an Exterminating Angel), Ansia (The Itch), La oscura evidencia (The Dark Evidence), Cave Canes (Beware the Dog), Insomnia and El edén despreciado (The Dreadful Eden). The pieces are imbued with desire, the driving force of humanity, under attack by external impulses which prompt extreme acts that engender a battle of life and death.
