5th Ibero-American Culture Congress

5th Ibero-American Culture Congress

Spain takes an active role in and vigorously promotes the creation and dissemination of a common Ibero-American area of culture. The aim is to make culture the essential element of integration in Ibero-America by highlighting its rich diversity and fostering intercultural dialogue.

The government cultural institutions of the various Ibero-American countries coordinate their activities with this aim in mind and, among other initiatives, organise the Ibero-American Cultural Conferences which bring civil society and the professional and creative sectors into the debate on the main challenges posed by culture in the Ibero-American environment.

Since their establishment in 2008, each of these conferences has devised approaches to the different creative aesthetic worlds that give meaning and scope to the notion of Ibero-America.

Zaragoza will be hosting the 5th congress, the motto of which is: Digital Culture. Network Culture in two main venues: the Palace of Congresses and the Etopia CAT (Centre for Art and Technology). However and very much in line with its theme, the Congress hopes to establish networks with the city of Zaragoza and is inhabitants. There will be numerous spaces around the city that will be “flooded” with activities relating to digital culture, networked culture and Ibero-American themes.

As in previous years, AC/E will be programming an artistic activity related to the main theme of the conference.
