17th Guanajauto Film Festival 2014

The theme of this 17^th festival is forced displacements of people, which have been a constant feature of mankind throughout the ages. Ever since humans settled and the first civilisations arose, greed, ambition, fanaticism, intolerance, iniquity and abuse of power have forced millions of people to abandon their homes and leave behind the places where they lived. It sets out to show how the cinema reflects this reality. It is an opportunity to address how armed conflicts, crises, terrorism, clashes over natural resources, neo-colonialism, organised crime and drug trafficking continuously dominate the news in today’s media.

AC/E is collaborating through the PICE programme for the internationalisation of Spanish culture by supporting the participation of Alberto Vázquez, Ana Palacios, Chico Pereira and Sergio Oksman.
