The annual M1 CONTACT Contemporary Dance Festival has been strategically conceptualised to stimulate and contribute to the Singapore contemporary dance and arts scene. Apart from developing a sustainable channel to nurture contemporary dance practitioners and advancing the local and regional contemporary dance scene, the festival has also grown in accessible performances and classes that appeal to the masses, raising public awareness of the multifaceted nature of contemporary dance.
AC/E supports the participation in this year's edition M1 Contacto of Spanish artist, Júlia Robert Pares, who will be co-creating a new work with Rudi Cole, on T.H.E Dance Company. This brand new works created by Júlia Robert Parés and Rudi Cole from Humanhood, as well as the South Korean choreographer, Kim Jae Duk, performed by T.H.E’s main full-time company dancers, will be premiering on 15 & 16 June 2018.

Humanhood, a rising company in UK/Spain founded in 2015 by Rudi Cole and Júlia Robert Parés, has been known for creating works that merge light, sound, and movement in a way that evokes an “energy-shifting”, surround-sound experience for the audiences. The duo’s curiosity for physics, human consciousness, and Eastern philosophies guide their practice, which aims to challenge the audience’s state of mind and preconceptions of reality.
Together with Kim Jae Duk's new work, the Humanhood choreographers’ sensitivity to the audience’s theatre experience will create an exhilarating double bill that exhibits artistic maturity, yet remains highly accessible for audiences from all walks of life.
