ALMA II is an annual gathering on a mountain farm in South Tyrol (I) questioning what South Tyrol and its landscape could look like in 2047. It will be developed and lead in collaboration with the Spanish Artist Fernando Garcìa-Dory, founder of INLAND, with whom BAU realised the exhibition and film ALMA in 2017. In order to give more visibility to the subject, ALMA II reflects with tourism experts, shepherds and other stakeholders on current dynamics & future scenarios.
On the first day there will be a symposium with Fernando García-Dory (international artist), Armin Bernhard (social cooperative Val Venosta), Thomas Aichner ( IDM - Innovation, Development, Marketing South Tyrol), Susanne Elsen (Sociologist, University Bolzano), Christoph Tribus (mountain farmer, Velloi), Madleine Rohrer ( Assessor Regional Planning, Merano), Erich Kofler Fuchsberg (local artist) at the Kunsthaus Merano (I), where the film ALMA.
Finally a two days gathering on the mountain farm Kienegger, Velloi, (I) will take place. How to analyse current trends, look at future scenarios, and take decisions? Can a visiting artist shake in depth previous understandings in a local agent? These questions should trigger and deepen the potential reciprocal relationship between agricultural production and production in the arts. Participants include: art students, agricultural students, scientists, meteorologists, forester, tourism experts, international and local artists, curators, mountain farmers, sociologists and others. The participation, limited to 25 people, will be on invitation by BAU and the artist Fernando García-Dory.
