The Festival Meeting Point started in 1990, is held annually in various sites across Spain and its main purpose the production, dissemination and promotion of electroacoustic music and sound art of Spanish artists. It organizes concerts, lectures and workshops . It is a great showcase of the national panorama of electroacoustic music.
This edition extends its ties to America through the participation of Spanish-speaking programmers based in the United States and Mexico. AC/E works through its Programme for the Internationalization of Spanish Culture, supporting the participation of representatives of the Mexican Center for Music and Sound Creation, the Subtropics Festival of Experimental Music and Sound Arts Miami, the NYU Waverly Labs for Computing and Music and the Mandragoras Arts Space.
The program of concerts, lectures and workshops begins in Madrid on Thursday 19 November and in Valencia on 26 November, which are the main venues. However, throughout the month of November of sound art exhibitions and occasional concerts are scheduled in other cities of Spain.
