XIII Orgelbau Rülhmann Festival (Rühlmann International Organ Festival) 2018

XIII Orgelbau Rülhmann Festival (Rühlmann International Organ Festival) 2018

The Rühlmann International Organ Festival has now reached its 13th edition and will be held between 26th August and 14th October, and this year is devoted to Spanish music with participation by several Spanish musicians. With support by AC/E, the full “Tomás Luis de Victoria” choir from Salamanca, with over 30 chorists, mostly young university students, will be performing at the festival.

Each year the organisers of the Rühlmann International Organ Festival schedule almost two months of concerts of different types with the organ as the centrepiece (organ solos, organ and choir, organ and soloists, choir, etc.) in twenty towns in Saxony (Germany) where there are Rühlmann organs. The Rühlmann family were organ makers from the middle of the 19th century through to 1940.

Ever since the “Tomás Luis de Victoria” choir was founded in 1973, it has been on many tours in different countries in Europe, America (USA and Argentina) and Asia (Japan), disseminating polyphonic music, and more specifically, Spanish music.
