Nerea Pallares is the Spanish writer selected to enjoy this writers' residency for two months, between January 3 and February 27, 2024, at the Cité Des Arts, in Paris.
Nerea Pallares (Lugo, 1989) is a freelance writer and journalist, author of “Los ritos mudos” (Turbina Editorial, 2022; InLimbo, 2021) and “Sidecar” (Ed. Oblicuas, 2015). She has developed part of her narrative projects as a resident writer at the Cidade da Cultura Literary Residency, at the Valparaíso Foundation or at the Gala Foundation for Young Creators. She has won international competitions such as the Energheia España Prize, the Las Dalias International Short Story Prize or the Ciudad de Martos Literary Contest. Her texts have been collected in anthologies such as “Hers, the Strangers” (InLimbo, 2023) and “Pena Negra” (InLimbo, 2022) and published in literary magazines such as Granta and Quimera.
The residency program is organized by Acción Cultural Española (AC/E), the French Embassy / French Institute in Spain and the Marie de Paris, with the support and participation of the Student Residence in Madrid and the Cité internationale des arts of Paris for the promotion of the exchange of French and Spanish writers. In addition, this program aims to create collaboration networks, promote the mobility of national creators abroad, encourage creative production by offering residences for creators and strengthen links between cultural institutions in France and Spain.
