World Opera Forum 2018

The first edition of the World Opera Forum is held at the Teatro Real de Madrid, between April 12 and 15, 2018. It brings together renowned Opera professionals from all over the world to chart the future of opera in the XXI century. For the first time, members of the three great opera associations will meet; Opera Latinoamericana, Opera America and Opera Europa as well as representatives of the main theaters in Africa, Asia and Oceania. In total more than 400 professionals and Opera institutions, part of which has had the support of AC/E to participate.

The Forum is framed in the programme commemorating the 200th anniversary of the Royal Theater and the 20th anniversary of its reopening. A programme that is promoting the opera in Spain as a cultural meeting point, which started in January 2016 and will last until the end of 2018. Its declaration as an event of exceptional public interest is also a great recognition of the historical role of the Teatro Real and of his contribution to culture.
