FOCUS GALICIA will take place in Galicia in the cities of Santiago de Compostela, A Coruña and Ourense from 19 to 21 October 2014 as a run-up to WOMEX 2014 – The World Music Expo, which will be held in Santiago de Compostela from 22 to 26 October 2014.
AC/E is collaborating with FOCUS Galicia through the visitors programme by facilitating the presence of international programmers Sonia Mazumdar (Earth Sync, India), Miguel Santos (Red Orange Agency; United Kingdom), Megumi Takahashi (Ahora Corporation, Japan), Rob Van den Bosch (Radar Agency, Netherlands), Marcus Muffler (Stimmen Festival, Germany), Brahim El Mazned (Timitar Festival, Morocco), Lisardo Lombardía (Festival Interceltique Lorient,France), Jody Ackland (World Cultures Festival, Ireland), Fernando Isella (MICA Mercado de Industrias Culturales, Argentina), Hilde Bjokum (Forde Festival,Norway), Paulo Andre Pires (Astronave Iniciativas Culturales, Brazil) and Carlos Seixas (Ao sul Mundo, Portugal).
WOMEX is the most important world music trade fair and will be celebrating its 20th year in 2014. It brings together companies, artists and institutions, 2,500 delegates, 300 national and international journalists, 130 radio stations, 800 concert planners and promoters, 560 record companies and distributors, and 590 exhibitors from 50 countries in 250 stands.
FOCUS GALICIA will bring together a selection of the 30 most important programmers, managers and agents taking part in WOMEX in order to familiarise them with the Spanish music scene and establish connections with Spanish professionals and institutions through a programme of forums, showcases and visits to different cultural venues in Galicia.
