With more than 20,000 visitors, the Welttheater der Straße is one of the most stable street theatre festivals on the German scene. It is held every year during the last week of August in the historical city of Schwerte, which becomes a surreal and poetic landscape during the festival. The festival works with the inclusive effect of street theatre, which crosses linguistic and social boundaries.
Twenty companies are taking part in this year’s edition, the 23rd, including three Spanish companies that have benefited from the support of the AC/E Programme for the Internationalisation of Spanish Culture: Ponten Pie, with his show ÂRTICA; and Insectotropics, with La Caputxeta Galactica .
