The Program for the Internationalization of Spanish Culture, PICE, was born in 2013 and operates in all fields of cultural creation: performing arts, visual arts, architecture, design, music, cinema, literature and books.
PICE seeks to increase international contacts, new opportunities, skills, visibility, and hiring abroad of our creators and their productions.
The internationalization of Spanish culture, through the promotion abroad of creators, artists and professionals, is specified in the following specific objectives:
• Make visible the richness and artistic quality of emerging Spanish contemporary creation abroad.
• Consolidate and expand the presence of emerging creators, national or resident, in the international arena and favour their promotion and contracting.
• Promote and facilitate connectivity and solid and permanent relationships with international entities that increase the visibility of Spanish art and culture abroad.
• Commit to meeting the objectives of the 2030 Agenda, especially with regard to gender equality, reduction of inequalities, sustainability and climate action.
• Promote actions in countries of strategic interest in AC/E.
• Pursue the excellence of the programme, betting on the formal coherence and economic efficiency of the proposals submitted.
PICE operates at three levels:
• Mobility of creators facilitating stays and trips and the circulation of productions
• Presence of international visitors, prescribers at events, fairs, festivals, Spanish meetings, etc.
• Training for creators, in artistic residencies, a line that will receive its own financing, within the PICE, this year 2022.
The programme in 2020 and 2021 has been reformulated, perfecting the bases to be adapted, during the pandemic, to digital or blended events. Improvements have been introduced in the calendar, objectives, scoring criteria, transparency, expense portfolio… what is the internal, administrative architecture of the program, reinforcing it, improving economic amounts, etc.
