Un compás. IMF Summer Festivities of Early Music 2018

Un compás: A Voyage from Spain to the Orient (D. Cantemir, G. Sanz, G. Kapsberger, A. Mudarra, M. Pérez de Albéniz). The Euskal Barrokensemble with Baroque guitar virtuoso Enrike Solinís, will appear as part of the 19th IMF Summer Festivities of Early Music, in a programme revealing rich cultural heritage of the highly inspiring region of Mediteranean sea with a special focus on Spanish coast. The performance will take place at the Troja Chateau, one of most beautiful Baroque villas in Prague.

Summer Festivities of Early Music 2018 will through the overall theme "MEDITERRANEO" pay exclusive attention to the region of Mediterranean Europe. Baroque music is one of the greatest sources of knowledge about the scope of influence and artistic inspiration that this region and its cultural traditions once had elsewhere in Europe. Festival programming will offer a survey of a large scale of local inspirations sources - both thematic and formal, including elements of local musical traditions.
