Ubud Village Jazz Festival was initiated by musicians, with the goal to have a small, sustainable, eco-friendly International Jazz Festival in Bali which will accommodate musicians and their audiences' need in terms of quality and Idealism, and to strengthen and to build better communication between diverse cultures and nations through music.
AC/E supports the participacion of Ian Scionti Trio with a festival concert, community workshop and a club concert.
Spanish Flamenco Music has always been attractive for Indonesian musicians and music enthusiasts, however there are few opportunities to see and hear this music "live in concert" in Indonesia. At Ubud Village Jazz Festival (UVJF) we believe that intense communication and exchange of information between musicians from different parts of the world helps to promote mutual understanding between cultures. Therefore, UVJF is more than delighted to host the Ian Scionti Trio in their 2016 edition and believe that the group will be able to represent the beauty of Flamenco-Jazz and Spanish culture to our audiences.
The participation of the Ian Scionti Trio will consist of three main activities: a workshop, club concert and festival performance. The workshop will be given to mostly young, semi-professional Indonesian musicians, focusing on teaching the basic elements of flamenco and highlighting the ways in which it can mix with other music, such as jazz. The second activity, a club concert, will introduce the beauty of Spanish flamenco-jazz music to our jazz community in Bali. And finally, the concert at UVJF will present the Ian Scionti Trio within the context of an international jazz festival, attended by a wide scope of international jazz lovers.
