Tribute to Rafael Chirbes at Munich's Adult Education Center

The Offene Akademie (Open academy) of the MVHS is responsible for planning the cultural events offered by Munich’s adult education centre and offers a programme featuring more than 100 activities every year. Established in 1987 as a forum for providing knowledge to civil society, it organises talks, debates and film sessions. The main areas of the programme are film, art and literature, philosophy and psychology, politics and society, and European history. It also has its own exhibition space (Aspekte Galerie).

Tribute to Rafael Chirbes
Rafael Chirbes already had a large readership in Germany when he died in 2015. Today he is hailed as one of the great European novelists of our time. In this three-part tribute, colleagues of Chirbes and experts on his oeuvre will talk about the author and his literature, as well as his influence in the Spanish literary and intellectual world.
