Tres días de diciembre. Bicentenary of the birth of Juan Prim

This year is the Bicentenary of the birth of General Juan Prim (Reus 1814–1870), a figure whose powerful personality and intense life, marked by heroism, leadership and the ambition for power and cut short by his shocking assassination, have aroused great interest in the circumstances surrounding his death.

AC/E is collaborating with the Sociedad Bicentenario General Prim 2014 in the production and staging of the play Tres días de diciembre (Three days in December) at the Teatro Principal de Mahón on 28 December 2014.  General Prim is closely related to Menorca in connection with the opening of the island’s fortress. The play takes a look at the last days in the general’s life and the attack he suffered on 30 December 1870. It is an original work written by Borja Órtiz de Gondra and performed by the Compañía de Teatro Federico García Lorca, from the Casa de Andalucía in Menorca.
