Transylvania International Film Festival 2014

Transylvania International Film Festival 2014

Transylvania International Film Festival (TIFF) was founded in 2002, and is Romania’s first international film festival. Its main purposes are to promote young filmmakers, to distribute and promote European cinema, to organise seminars and conferences on film production and distribution, and to instil a taste for quality films in an emerging generation.

Over these past twelve years TIFF has become a leading event in Romania owing not only to its excellent annual programme but also to its effective organisation, its atmosphere, its large number of quality seminars, workshops and meetings, and its fabulous concerts.

The most recent festivals have been truly spectacular. In 2013 nearly 400 films were shown to more than 62,000 spectators during the twelve days it lasted. Throughout these 12 events TIFF has had the honour of receiving important people from the European and international films world, such as Julie Delpy, Michael Radford, Annie Girardot, Udo Kier, Vanessa Redgrave, Franco Nero, Nicolas Roeg, Catherine Deneuve, Claudia Cardinale and Wim Wenders, Jacqueline Bisset, Geraldine Chaplin and Jiri Menzel.

For this 13th festival at Cluj-Napoca, TIFF, with the collaboration of AC/E, has invited Spaniards Pablo Berger, Antonio de la Torre and Manuel Martín Cuenca to present their latest work
