Translocaciones 2015. Observatorio de proyectos

Translocaciones | Observatorio de proyectos is an exhibition curated by Ramón Parramón. It consists of a heterogeneous group of artworks which, as a whole, address today’s mobility flows in interaction with specific places in several cities. Global phenomena such as tourism, migration, or professional relocation are addressed through contextualised projects that promote a range of options and ways of acting. In some cases they analyse, in others they denounce and in others still they propose alternatives with respect to how these elements, which have a global geopolitical influence, affect or are involved in the local context. Consequences of mobility in relation to citizenship, identity, territoriality, diversity, the establishment or construction of public space become interconnected in different ways depending on the circumstances, moments and locations.

This exhibition brings together a series of projects already implemented in several cities by a selection of artists and creators, as well as the various phases developed in the framework of Translocaciones, and also several production projects implemented in the context of the Raval and Gothic districts.

Thanks to the support of AC/E’s Programme for the Internationalisation of Spanish Culture, José Cortes Valenzuela, of the Chilean national arts council, is attending the opening and working sessions with the Idensitat team, who promoted the project, to learn about the proposals with the idea of subsequently inviting them to Chile to stage a joint long-term project.

As a whole, the exhibition is designed to showcase how the phenomenon of mobility has a global scope with specific connotations in each place. The projects promoted by the creators influence these contexts, mapping and activating critical action or employing collaborative and co-participatory mechanisms in the context of the city.
