The Subtle Worlds Un momento del documental

The Subtle Worlds

Acción Cultural Española (AC / E) recalls the centenary of the publication of Campos de Castilla by Antonio Machado, with this film produced by Ana Amigo that recalls the life and literary career of the poet through music and dance. The documentary, directed by Chapero-Jackson was shot in 16 days during the months of May, June and July in Madrid, Soria, Baeza, Parla and Valencia.

A young student of the Conservatory of Dance, played by Alicia Pardo, has to prepare a test course about Antonio Machado. She will delve into the life and work of the poet in this cinematic hybrid between documentary and fiction. Apparently away from any connection with the poet, she will experience a profound impact to discover  live in the fields of Castilla's past and present. The challenge of the student is to perform his poetry through the language of the body, and its success or failure will depend in her ability to feel life.

With this argument Chapero-Jackon has created a film in which " coexist the biographical documentary research and the search for life experience in Machado's poems." "Not a trip to the past, Jackson says, but a search for connection between the poet and our time."
