The Pereira Luna de Locos International Poetry Festival is one of the most important events for This year, AC/E is supporting a special programme within the framework of the “Foco Cultura España-Colombia” with participation by the artists Iona Gruia and Luis Muñoz.
Ioana Gruia (Bucarest, 1978) living in Granada since 1997, where she teaches Comparative Literature at the University. She has written several novels (Tiflos Award Winner) and papers, and editor of “The Works of Norman Manea: review and interpretation”. As a poet, she wrote “Carrusel” (Visor, 2016), winner of the Emilio Alarcos poetry award (translated to Romanian), and “El Sol en la Fruta” (Renacimiento, 2011), Young Andalusia award for poetry (translated to French and Romanian).
Luis Muñoz was born in Granada in 1966, and graduated in Spanish Philology and Romance Studies his hometown university. He directed the Literature Lectures at the University (1992-2000) and the “Hélice” poetry magazine from its foundation to closure (1992-2002). He has worked as a translator and exhibition curator. His poetry through to 2005 is published in the book “Limpiar Pescado. Poesía reunida 1991-2005" (Visor, 2005). He has published the poetry books “Septiembre” (Hiperón, 1991), "Manzanas amarillas" (Hiperión, 1995), "El apetito" (Pre-Textos, 1998), "Correspondencias" (Visor, 2001) and "Querido silencio" (Tusquets, 2006). He is currently a professor at Iowa University, United States of America.
All of the guest poets invited to take part in this project will be performing at ten events, in Pereira and the surrounding towns and villages. The project is encompassed in the reading and writing promotion plans at education centres which, in order to encourage maximum attendance by the authors, must have previously worked with and studied the work by the visiting authors.
