Tanz im August 2019

Tanz im August 2019

Tanz im August is Germany's most important festival for contemporary dance presented by HAU Hebbel am Ufer. Each year the audience is invited to experience four weeks of the complete dance scope. Productions of international stars, newscomers and choreographers of the Berlin scene bring their works to locations all over the city, among them numerous World and Germany premieres. Tanz im August also offers many audience engagement formats which offer unexpected access to the programme.

AC/E is covering the travel expenses of the Spanish guests invited to take part La Ribot & Dancando com a Diferenca with their work "Happy Island". La Ribot created "Happy Island" together with the dancers from Dançando com a Diferença. The dancers travel along their desires and visions, exploring unsettling intensities, creating temporary, imaginary dream places. In images both intimate and extravagant, they tell of community and the right to freedom.
