Summer School of Art is held annually in Palermo and aims to create synergies between young Italian and international artists. It creates the possibility of bringing together different practices and contemporary thoughts. For this third edition that takes place in the summer of 2018, it brings together Cesare Viel, an Italian artist based in Genoa, and Dora García, a Spanish artist who lives and works between Barcelona and Brussels. The latter has the support of AC/E through the PICE mobility grants.
Summer School of Art allows to create synergies between young Italian and international artists, and the possibility to meet to discuss different practices and contemporary thoughts. It allows young Italian and international artists, and national and international organizations, to collaborate and try different practices and thoughts in a very stimulating group context. This project has the character of a workshop, individual and collective, a residence in which to share knowledge and an assessment that ends in an exhibition. In addition to the two invited artists, the course will feature 15 emerging artists from all over Europe.
The presence of Cesare Viel and Dora García, will help to direct and organize the collective discussions and facilitate and stimulate the production of a final project in an exhibition mode that will be shown in "Il Caffè Intenazionale".
