Staged Reading Series 2015

Staged Reading Series 2015

Staged Reading Series 2015 is the third edition of the cycle of staged readings devoted to contemporary Spanish playwriting in the city of New York. It is organised by AENY, Spanish Artists in New York, in collaboration with NITEcorp, International Theatre Experience.

This project is aimed at disseminating and giving visibility to authors and plays from Spain in the United States, a country where Spanish-language drama is mainly represented by Latin American plays and (occasionally) classic Spanish Golden Age texts or the works of Lorca, but there is no real and/or continuous presence of new voices and works from Spain. In order to boost the dissemination of the Spanish plays and authors that have been selected for this cycle, in addition to staged readings, other activities will be held such as talks and debates. . This year, with the support of AC/E, Staged Reading will feature playwrights Juan Mayorga, Juan Diego Botto, José Padilla, Blanca DoménechAlberto Conejero and Paco Bezerra.
