The SEFF (Seville European Film Festival) is a prestigious event that has been committed for years to the "other Spanish cinema", less commercial and independently produced.
In 2021, within the Festival, the AC/E Award for the best Spanish Director will be born with the aim of promoting the creation and visibility of national talent. This collaboration makes perfect sense due to the Festival's position as a great prescriber of new Spanish cinema, offering a stable platform for national and international premieres of the most daring and creative novelties on the national scene.
All Spanish films or films with national co-production selected by the Seville Festival for its competitive sections are eligible for this award, which is awarded by an international jury made up of three renowned personalities in the European film industry.
