Among the foreign musicians taking part in this year’s festival is the band Iseo & Dodosound, whose participation has the support of AC/E through the PICE mobility programme. This duo from Navarra created in 2014, has a style that mixes reggae and dub, with strong trip-hop influences. They will offer a concert along with other national and international bands, in the city of Oxapampa, in Yanachaga-Chemillen Park, right at the central jungle of Peru. In addition to the concert, members of the band will share their experience and their music through workshops and seminars.
In 2014, the paths of Iseo & Dodosound crossed, with their distinctive musical influences a mix of new textures and sounds emerged, bringing a creative explosion of new and unknown musical horizons. Their first auto produced LP Cat Platoon (2015) experiments with the subtle balance of digital and analog elements. With this first album, their unique sound was cemented and well received by critics and audiences, which propelled them on a tour of major festivals across Europe and Spain. Two years later, their sophisticated musical minimalism and Iseo’s distinctive voice have found in their new album, Roots in The Air (2017), a new platform to develop more mature ideas and messages without leaving their naturalness and proximity behind. After two years of evolution in their sound, this album is a clear musical leap, which remains loyal to their original spirit.
The Selvámonos association was created in 2009 with the initial purpose of holding a music and arts festival in Oxapampa, with the strong commitment to decentralize the national cultural offer, provide new scenarios for the arts and raise public awareness about environmental care at Through the experience of the festival. Currently, Selvámonos is the most important music and arts festival in Peru that has gathered more than 50,000 people in its 8 editions.
