San Sebastián Festival is a film competition of the highest category (A) accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers Association (FIAPF). It takes place every year in the month of September, in the city of San Sebastián. It was first held on 21 September1953and is currently in its 62nd year.

AC/E is collaborating in this year’s festival by supporting the participation of visitors Hongsik Park (Korea, Jeonju International Film Festival), Iván Trujillo (Mexico, Guadalajara International Film Festival), Algirdas Ramaska (Lithuania, Vilnius International Film Festival), Pilar Martínez-Vasseur (France, Reencontres du Cinema Espagnol, Nantes), Karel Och (Czech Republic, Karlovy Vary International Film Festival) and Git Sheynius (Stockholm International Film Festival).

The documentary Paco de Lucía: la búsqueda (Paco de Lucía: the quest), produced by Ziggurat Films with the collaboration of Telecinco Cinema, Acción CulturalEspañola (AC/E) and Fundación SGAE, will also be presented as part of the festival.

Directed by Curro Sánchez Varela (son of the late Paco de Lucía), this documentary began to be filmed three years ago on location in Madrid, Algeciras, Las Vegas and New York. It will be shown to the press and audiences in the Zabaltegi section of the 62nd San Sebastián Festival. In addition to Paco de Lucía, the documentary features key names from the music scene, such as Carlos Santana, Alejandro Sanz, John Mclaughlin, Estrella Morente, Pepe de Lucía, Chick Corea, Rubén Blades, Carles Benavent and Jorge Pardo, among others.
‘Paco de Lucía: la búsqueda’ takes a look at the different landscapes that progressively transform the brilliant Algeciras-born musician. It begins at his Mallorca residence, from which he departs on a new tour, guitar in hand. From this point it alternates between past and present. On the one hand, we witness his artistic and historical development and, on the other, we accompany him on different moments of his last tours.
