The Salón Internacional del Cómic de Granada is an international comic fair that has been held annually in Granada since 1994 and is hailed as the second most important of its kind in Spain after Barcelona’s international comic fair.
The activities held annually include professional meetings with publishers that offer aspirants employment opportunities. The publishers give some 200 interviews to new cartoonists. The interviews can be requested directly from the festival’s organisers and take place in the city centre between 1 and 3 April.
This year AC/E is supporting the participation of Jean Wacquet, publishing director and editor-in-chief of French publishing firm Soleil which specialises in ‘genre’ comics (particularly fantasy and science-fiction) and includes BD, comic, manga and children’s titles, and Denton J. Tipton, director of one of the leading US firms, IDW Publishing.
