RICOCHET #10. Amie Siegel. Double Negative

RICOCHET #10. Amie Siegel. Double Negative

The Ricochet series of exhibitions at the Villa Stuck museum presents contemporary artists with the aim of establishing a dialogue between their work and the museum’s historical spaces. The selected works reflect the discourses of the present day and examine current political and social affairs, leaving them open for revision through aesthetic transformations. For each exhibition the chosen artist and the curator team up to select the museum spaces they will work on.

The 10th edition of Ricochet, devoted to the artist Amie Siegel, has a Spanish curator, Yara Sonseca, who is taking part with the support of AC/E through its Programme for the Internationalisation of Spanish Culture. This is the American artist Amie Siegel’s first exhibition in Europe.

Establishing a dialogue between her films and installations, the exhibition offers visitors the chance to come into contact with the corpus of aesthetic theory the artist has been developing for the past ten years. The show features seven of her works, including a new one.
