Mario González | Residency at LA Contemporary Dance Company 2023

Mario González is the choreographer selected for this two-week residency, between the months of October and December 2023, at the Contemporary Dance Company of Los Angeles. The residency, aimed at choreographers who reside and carry out their activity in Spain, is organized by Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) and the SPAIN-USA Foundation, with the support and participation of the Contemporary Dance Company of Los Angeles, with the objectives of facilitating the creation of collaboration networks, promote the mobility of national creators abroad, foster creative production by offering residencies for creators and cultural professionals in all fields, and strengthen links between cultural institutions in the United States and Spain.

Mario González is a Spanish choreographer based in Madrid. He began his dance studies in 2008 and has toured Spain to discover and get to know the contemporary and urban dance scene. His passion for learning led him to travel and work in countries such as Belgium, Brazil, Canada, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Sweden, and the United Kingdom, helping him broaden his horizons and discover new and emerging forms of expression. As an artist and creator, Mario thrives on new experiences, collaborating with professionals in the art field, and challenging himself, with the goal of creating content that inspires and impacts those who receive it, as well as himself.
