Héctor Castells is the writer selected for the residency at the Toji Cultural Foundation 2022. This residency promotes the exchange of writers between Spain and Korea. It lasts for two months, between September and October 2022, and takes place at the Toji Cultural Foundation in Seoul.
Héctor Castells has a degree in Journalism and Law from Pompeu Fabra University. As an experienced writer, he is the author of the double novel “Catalonely” (Terranova Editorial, Barcelona, May 2022), literary translator of “El Mejor”, a biography of Northern Irish footballer George Best (Contra, Barcelona, June 2022) and of “Nocturno from Tangier”, by the acclaimed Irish writer Kevin Barry (Alpha Decay, Barcelona, March 2021), among others, and a creative writer with an important history of working in the publishing industry. An expert in translation, literature, film and artistic writing, he is also a media and communication professional.
This type of project allows creators to participate in international collaboration networks, and the organizations that organize them to promote their international mobility, encourage national creative production and strengthen links between cultural institutions in Korea and Spain. It is organized by Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) and the Toji Cultural Foundation, with the support and participation of the Residencia de Estudiantes.
