Cooperative De Rue et De Cirque (2r2c), established in 2005, is a cooperative devoted to contemporary circus and street arts. 2r2c run a varied programme of activities and performances all year round to foster permanent connections between artists and audiences. In 2014 they started up a programme of artistic exchanges with similar centres – Residences Croisées – in order to grant companies with professional experience the opportunity to develop a specific co-creation project (creative residencies) and advise emerging companies that are just starting out (accompaniment residencies).
The second edition of this exchange of residences is taking place in 2016 with the Central de Circ in Barcelona, which is playing host to 4 companies (2 Spanish and 2 French). The aim of the project is to establish connections between the Spanish and French artists in order to facilitate their mobility, giving priority to the production of new work, and to encourage them to explore new cultural environments, as well as to hold meetings and exchanges between the participants and audiences. The Spanish artists are taking part thanks to the support of AC/E through its Programme for the Internationalisation of Spanish Culture.
The chosen companies are Compañía Sugar (Pietro Selva Bonino) and Compañía PSRC (Wanja Kahlert).
